Natural marble is a metamorphic rock formed by heat and high pressure in the crust. It belongs to medium hard stone, mainly composed of calcite, limestone, serpentine and dolomite. Its main components are calcium carbonate to mainly, accounting for more than 50%.
What are the characteristics of natural marble?
Main feature of natural marble is that Dense texture but not very hard, easy processing, carving, grinding, polishing and so on. After polishing, marble is exquisite, natural and smooth texture. It has high decorative. Natural marble can be use 40-100 years because of its low water absorption and high durability. Natural marble slab and profile items are important materials for interior and furniture making.

White marbles, like Carrara, have been prized for sculpture since classical times. This preference has to do with the softness and relative isotropy and homogeneity, and a relative resistance to shattering. Also, the low index of refraction of calcite allows light to penetrate several millimeters into the stone before being scattered out, resulting in the characteristic "waxy" look which gives "life" to marble sculptures of the human body.
